Fond fondue memories!
The weather is finally starting to cool down in sub-tropical Queensland - just the time to start thinking about setting the air conditioner to Swiss winter temperature and getting a fondue on the stove!
Naturally memories of our times spent in Switzerland, with our friends Cherie and Bruno, come to mind. They taught me to make fondue after all [ref. previous fondue post], at their place in beautiful Anzere in the Swiss mountains.
I certainly don't have a view of snowy mountains from my kitchen window but sharing a fondue almost makes me feel like I'm there.

Happy Valentines...
These Bourbon Vanilla Luxemburgerli were transformed for Valentines Day with these sparkly, red hearts. They looked spectacular in a large display at the Sprungli store. It was a lucky coincidence that we were traveling back to Australia on Valentines Day, as my sister especially requested that I bring her back her favourite Luxemburgerli - Bourbon Vanilla! So, she had a wonderful surprise to see that they were so beautifully decorated.
Indulgent brunch....
Our Swiss friend Cherie made my day when she visited us in Konstanz for brunch and brought Luxemburgerli [Swiss macaroons] from Sprungli and her very own zopf, an absolute delight to look at let alone eat.
We also enjoyed a Linzer Torte from the St Gebhardt's Platz markets in Konstanz. The stall holders also make their own range of excellent jams from berries they grow. They use their very own raspberry jam in their spicy Linzer Torte, which makes it all the more special and delicious.
